What an event is

When it happens in person
- The public page shows the area only. The exact address goes to the people who are going.
- A map on the page, so nobody is texting you for the postcode.
- Reminder emails before it starts, in each member's own time zone.
- Or run it as both at once, a real room and the video room, for anyone who cannot travel.
Your members run the nights
Any member can ask to host. You say yes, they put on a night in person or in Groopy's own video room, and the room fills because the people are already yours. Turn your keenest members into hosts and the calendar starts filling without you.
How a night runs
- A member asks to host. You approve who runs what.
- Every host builds a rating from the nights they have run.
- Paying members get a discount on every ticket, which is a reason to join.
- Hosts check people in off the door list, so you know who turned up.
The host names the price, Groopy sells real tickets, and the host keeps 95 percent. You keep the other 5, or whatever cut you set.
What other community platforms leave out
Everywhere else the night ends and the group goes quiet until the next one. Here your members keep talking, the next date is already up, and the recording stays in the library.
Two ways it pays you: your members pay by the month, and you keep a cut of every ticket your hosts sell. Every host you add puts more nights on the calendar, so the group keeps growing without you running all of it.

- What does it cost to start?

- Does Groopy take a cut of what my members pay?
- No. Groopy takes nothing from your memberships or your tickets; the plan is the only thing you pay us. The only cut on a ticket is yours, from the nights your hosts run. Stripe charges its usual card fee, as it does anywhere.
- Can my members run nights for me?
- Yes. Any member can ask to host, you approve who runs what, and every ticket they sell pays you your cut.
- Who owns the members and the money?
- You do. Payments land in your own Stripe account, and your member list is yours to export whenever you like.
Who makes Groopy
We are a small team of friends who care a lot about people actually getting together. We built Groopy so anyone can start their own group, host their own get-togethers and keep the whole community in one place, without needing a following or a pile of other apps to do it.
